MP TO PRESENT HOSPITAL PETITION

Wrekin MP, Mark Pritchard, will present a “massive petition” to the House of Commons “within the next month” – following years of campaigning to stop cuts to hospital services at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford.

The MP who has collected over 12,000 names on a Parliamentary Petition to try and stop the downgrading of accident and emergency and paediatric services in Telford believes the petition is probably one of the largest in Shropshire’s recent social and political history.

The MP said:
“There has been overwhelming support for my Save The PRH campaign. People of all ages - from across the community have backed the case for keeping key services at the PRH. I am grateful for all those who have made such an effort. I now hope Ministers and local health bosses will see the scale of the opposition and shelve the plans”.

The MP has asked that all Parliamentary Petition forms be returned to the House of Commons or to the MP’s office at 25 Church Street, Wellington by Friday 16th October.
